Diamante Poetry:

Diamante poetry consists of seven lines, usually resulting in a diamond shaped poem.

  • Line 1: One word that is a contrast to line 7
  • Line 2: Two adjectives that describe line 1
  • Line 3: Three action verbs that relate to line 1
  • Line 4: Four nouns, with 2 related to line 1 and 2 related to line 7
  • Line 5: Three action verbs that relate to line 7
  • Line 6: Two adjectives that describe line 7
  • Line 7: One word that is a contrast to line 1

    Example Poem:


    love
    silly, deep
    flowing, sharing, giving
    poem, heart, blood, dagger
    yelling, shouting, stealing
    crappy, unhappy
    hate
