Cinquain Poetry:

Cinquain poetry is short and usually unrhymed. They consist of 22 syllables - 2/4/6/8/2 - in five lines of verse.

  • Line 1: Two Syllables - the Title
  • Line 2: Four syllables - describes the title
  • Line 3: Six syllables that state an action
  • Line 4: Eight syallables that express a feeling
  • Line 5: Two syllales - synonym for title

    Example Poem:


    Rocket
    Means of travel
    Flying to outer space
    When are you coming home to earth?
    Space Ship
