Internet Skills
- PERL: There's more than one way to do it with PERL.
- PHP: Current web scripting language of choice. Daily use.
- ASP: Use it when I absolutely must. Semi-familiar with the syntax.
- Javascript: Work with it at least a couple times a month still. Learning.
- (x)HTML: I presently hand-code everything. Trying to be more standards compliant.
- XML: Grab, parse and work with weekly.
- mySql: Current database of choice. Work with it on a daily basis. Have compiled it from source.
- FLASH: Extensive experience. Have tied flash animations to a database.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Current heavy topic of interest.
Apple Macintosh Skills
- Adobe Photoshop: Very knowledgable
- Macromedia Freehand: Worked with it on more than one occasion.
- Illustrator: Tried it once. Not much experience.
- BBEdit: Used a lot.
- Macromedia Fireworks: Very knowledgable.
- Dreamweaver: Used a lot in the past. Not much anymore.
- Filemaker Pro: Worked with it in the past. No recent exposure.
- Lasso: Another legacy skillset.
- java: Played with a visual developer once for a couple weeks.
- OS X: Daily use. Preferred OS.
- java servelets: Know what they are. No first-hand experience.
- WebSTAR webserver: Still run a copy of this for a newsroom task. Occasionally have to restart it.
- WebSiphon Scripting Language: Where I orig. learned scripting for the web. No recent work with it.
Skills on the PC
- Win98: Daily use. Main secondary OS.
- WinME: Used infrequently. Can't be *too* different ;)
- Windows XP: Ditto.
- Windows NT: Father ran this so I occasionally use it.
- Photoshop: Almost daily use.
- MS SQL: Played around with it one semester. Went back to Unix.
- IIS: Played around with it one semester. Went back to Apache mostly.
- Paint Shop Pro: Don't use this much anymore. Previous experience, though.
- Microsoft Office: Use it at least once a month.
Unix Skillset
- Apache: Have compiled it more than once on various platforms.
- Netscape Enterprise Server: Used infrequently. Can't be *too* different ;)
- Solaris: Previous experience. Not much lately, though.
- RedHat: Compiled the kernel more than once on various machines.
- Mandrake: Help manage one server in production environment currently.
- Shells: At home on the command line.
