Kanye West and Jay-Z are facing a battle after allegedly using an unauthorised sample. Hidden in rumour and myth, ‘Watch The Throne’ finally materialised earlier this month. The first full collaboration between Kanye West and Jay-Z, it saw two rap heavyweights go head to head on the mic. Built on a variety of soul samples, lead single ‘Otis’ used extensive elements of Otis Redding’s ‘Try A Little Tenderness’. However it seems that one un-cleared sample could lead to a legal battle. Previously released via the G.O.O.D. Fridays series, ‘The Joy’ makes extensive use of ‘Different Strokes’ by soul / funk great Syl Johnson. Nous vous parlions récemment d’iTunes Match (cf article) comme une possibilité de blanchir à moindre frais des titres téléchargés illégalement et de les obtenir en AAC 256kb/s. Pour 25$ par an, il sera en effet possible de récupérer sur iTunes tous les mp3 qui sont présents sur votre disque dur.
Le label Numero Group a décidé de ne pas participer à l’offre iTunes Match et se désiste donc.
De son côté Apple explique qu’iTunes Match n’incite pas au téléchargement illégal de musique mais permet de gagner un peu d’argent sur des mp3 « illégaux ».
